Our thanks go to Nick and Amanda at WSR Recycling for their commitment to provide the machinery and manpower to clear our Wonky Garden sites.
The Wonky Garden is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation based in Halton, Cheshire.
They are three friends who met in Halton through a fantastic well-being activity for individuals experiencing life changing illnesses, in their case, cancer. They come from very different backgrounds but together developed The Wonky Garden concept to 'give something back' to the local community.
They work in close partnership with volunteers, to enable the design, creation and nurturing of vibrant community spaces, and school gardens, with an abundance of flowers, fruit and vegetables together with sensory areas for relaxation.
You can come along and join in with 'sowing and growing' or you can simply come and meet others and watch how things develop and transform from a spare piece of land to a unique Wonky Garden!
Anyone can attend, no matter how much or little you know about gardening and they welcome visitors that simply want to enjoy the company and have a chat.
They have already generated interest and have three projects in Halton; Grangeway Youth and Community Centre (Runcorn), Moorfield Primary School (Widnes), Halton Farnworth Hornets ARLFC with another under discussion.
The Wonky Garden volunteers need the support of local businesses and individuals to support them with donations or gifts in kind to provide/buy seeds, plants, building materials and tools.
If you could help in any way to support their work, they would love to hear from you.
Or please donate through their online JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/Crowdfunding/thewonkygarden
