Recycling Services

WSR Recycling Ltd recognise that we represent a key function in the application of sustainability on behalf of our customers. Legislation requires that waste producers and processors must apply the fundamentals of the waste hierarchy as required by Regulation 12 of the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011.
Key to ensuring compliance requires WSR to ensure waste entering the site is processed in a way that removes the need to landfill, to recycle or re-use where possible with residual waste being converted to ‘Refuse Derived Fuel’ for power generation.

Our Ditton Road facility includes a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) where waste inputs from the Construction & Demolition and Commercial & Industrial sites are processed.

Materials Recycling Facility (MRF)

The MRF is designed to maximise the processing of waste to ensure that as many recyclates are removed from the waste input and therefore reduce the amount of residual waste that would be used as RDF or landfill.
WSR operatives, along with key plant and machinery, target key recyclates moving through the process and transfer these to appropriate segregated storage bays. Key recyclates generated through the MRF include, but not limited to:

Wood (various grades);
Plastics (various grades);
Hardcore (bricks, concrete, ceramics etc.);
Polymer film;
Metals (ferrous, non-ferrous, drink cans);
Paper & Card;

The recyclates we generate are then transferred to a number of selected waste re-processors either as loose load delivery or our baled on site for onward transportation. Operational and process efficiency is monitored and recorded for conformance with our Quality Management System and to provide key performance data for our customers needs.
